Designed by Eric Chan The Geiger Foray Executive Task Chair, designed by Eric Chan, bridges the gap between existing task and executive seating with the first design to combine executive-class comfort and luxury with task-oriented performance. The Foray features an organic take on the traditional architectural silhouette, softened by fluid shapes while preserving the classic character of the chair. Designed with Geiger?s intimate knowledge of the executive office and based on the Herman Miller Harmonic tilt platform, the Foray will be a classic for aesthetics and comfort for many years to come. The Design -The Foray was originally designed to fill a gap in the current seating market for a product that combines executive-level comfort and luxury with the ultimate performance of a task chair. -Designed by Eric Chan, a child of Confucian culture, Foray incorporates Chan?s respect for the past and an understanding that for anything to last it has to be right. -It is from these roots that the Foray effectively incorporates architectural and organic inspirations: the Foray takes the shape of the palm of a nurturing hand. -Chan worked with Geiger International, a subsidiary of Herman Miller, which allowed him to tap Herman Miller?s extensive knowledge of ergonomics and design a chair that presents the ultimate in comfort and luxury. -Chan decided to base his chair on Herman Miller?s Harmonic Tilt technology that provides the pneumatic controls for any user to be seated in complete comfort. -Also, the Foray was to comply with Cradle to Cradle Design Protocol ? a strict environmental analysis of the materials and processes used in the making of the chair.
